After a couple months worth of a trial period, the boy and I officially decided to stay in a funky downtown duplex. It’s rough around the edges but in a very private little pocket of Ketchum, and we were excited to show it to some friends after some extensive and much needed bushwhacking, spring cleaning and decorating.
We celebrated with a colorful BBQ — despite some rain showers and wind — including typical BBQ fare, s’mores, some county and Dr. Dre radio music, and even a classic drinking game…the boys got a little too excited about a flashback to the college days. Needless to say, many had to turn in early, so I suppose it was a great success!
Despite lots of weed whacking, raking, etc. our backyard can still be a bit drab. So, the decor theme of the evening was simply color.
Here’s how we added some summery touches:
The food was mostly potluck style, but we provided a couple yummy, summery, and “no mayo” sides. Here’s a look at some tasty treats — recipes to come!
Thanks so much to everyone who helped me and Chase celebrate! It’s going to be a great summer, and we can’t wait to have people over again for another BBQ!
